Hi! I’ve always loved the thought of becoming an author, but for too many years, I let life get in the way of that dream. It wasn’t until going through some hard times that the dream slapped me in the face and said, wake up and do it!
Several years ago, my mom passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. It ripped through me, and during that mourning period I started writing as self-therapy. It was a chance to tell a story about a girl who lost her mom, a girl who wouldn’t be able to share all the new things that happened in her life, and it was a way for me to purge my sadness but turned into so much more. At the end of that amazing time of self-reflection, I had the first draft of Ruby.
